What we collect

We collect only what is needed to run the platform:

• Business information: name, description, location, products, photos, and contact details you provide in your listing
• Email address: used to log in and receive platform communications
• Usage data: aggregated analytics such as listing views and inquiry counts (for Partner producers only)
• Files you upload: photos stored securely in our file storage

We do not collect payment information. All transactions happen directly between you and your customers.

How we use it

Your information is used to operate your listing on Source Local, including displaying your profile, sending platform updates, and providing analytics. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

By creating an account, you agree to receive essential service emails related to your account and platform usage, such as sign-in links and important updates.

What is made public

Your business name, description, products, photos, location, availability, and any contact details you add to your profile are displayed publicly on sourcelocal.ca. Only include information you are comfortable making publicly visible.

Data storage

Your data is stored on secure servers located in Canada or other jurisdictions used by our service providers. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Cookies and storage

We use a secure session cookie to keep you signed in to the producer portal. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising pixels.

Third-party services

We use Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and Vercel (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. We will typically process requests within 30 days. Some information may be retained temporarily where required for legal, security, or backup purposes.
