Producer Terms of Use

About Source Local

Source Local is a community platform built by Local Tech Solutions in Comox Valley, BC. It connects consumers with local producers, makers, artists, and growers in their area. By creating a listing, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a producer account on Source Local.

Your Listing

You are responsible for the accuracy of all information in your listing, including your business name, product descriptions, pricing, availability, and contact details. Source Local reserves the right to remove or suspend listings that contain inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate content. Source Local does not inspect, verify, or certify products listed by producers.

Prohibited Content

Producers may not upload or publish:

• Misleading or false claims about products or your business
• Illegal products or services
• Offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content
• Copyrighted content you do not have permission to use

Transactions

Source Local does not process payments, fulfil orders, or handle disputes between producers and consumers. All sales, pickups, and arrangements are made directly between you and your customers. You are solely responsible for your own business operations, including compliance with all applicable municipal, provincial, and federal laws, including food safety, tax, and business regulations.

Subscription Plans

The Listed plan is free with no time limit. The Partner plan is billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; your listing will revert to the Listed tier at the end of the billing period. Source Local reserves the right to change plan pricing with 30 days' notice. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Content You Upload

You retain ownership of all photos and content you upload. By uploading content, you grant Source Local a non-exclusive licence to display that content on the platform and in promotional materials (e.g. social media, newsletters) to promote your listing and the platform. We will not sell your content to third parties.

Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately. We may suspend accounts that show signs of unauthorized activity.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Source Local may suspend or remove a listing for violations of these terms, or fraudulent, harmful, misleading, or inappropriate conduct, or prolonged inactivity (12+ months without any update).

Limitation of Liability

Source Local is provided as-is. Source Local does not guarantee visibility, customer inquiries, or sales. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Source Local is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify active producers by email of significant changes. Continued use of the portal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
